The Inion S-1™ Biodegradable Anterior Cervical Fusion System is used, in conjunction with traditional rigid fixation (USA) or immobilisation (EU), in spinal fusion procedures as a means to maintain the relative position of block bone allografts or autografts. The system consists of single and double level biodegradable plates and screws with radiopaque markers.

Craniomaxillofacial (CMF) surgery encompasses the treatment of pathological conditions of the face, jaws and skull, including trauma and the correction of facial skeletal deformity and dental deformity.
Since the 1980s, titanium plate fixation has been the preferred solution; however, titanium is not without its problems. Particular concerns centre on the performance of titanium implants in the body and the effects on this, the restrictions to bone growth and implants migrating through the cranium in child patients.
Inion launched its Compact Plating System(Inion CPS ® in 2001 for use in four clinical areas:
CMF trauma (resulting from e.g. assaults, falls or vehicle accidents
Orthognathic surgery (straightening of the jaws to create an even bite)
Craniofacial surgery (to correct congenital and early post natal deformities in infants
Mandibular reconstruction (to repair jaw after resection, usually due to oral cancer)
Inion CPS® is the only biodegradable CMF system with applications for all areas of the facial skeleton, and comprises a range of biodegradable plates, screws and custom instruments for use in children and adults.
